About Caleb

Caleb is currently pursuing an MA degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago. He initially joined Dr. Paul Sereno's Gobero archaeological laboratory in 2018 as a volunteer during his time as a UChicago undergraduate where he received a BA in History with honors. His honors thesis explored the history of archaeological excavation by UChicago's Oriental Institute at the site of Megiddo in present-day Israel. Caleb's goal is to pursue a doctorate degree in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and fulfill his dream of becoming a working Near Eastern archaeologist. He has previously participated in archaeological projects in Israel and Italy.

Caleb currently works as Dr. Sereno's student lab manager and data manager primarily with the Gobero archaeological collection. One of the long-term projects Caleb focuses on is cataloging and digitizing Dr. Sereno's extensive archaeological and paleontological collections for the Online Cultural and Historical Research Environment (OCHRE) Database, an integrated platform housed by the Oriental Institute.
