PaleoClub
Mission
PaleoClub is an RSO here on campus which brings together university students interested in paleontology, gives them hands-on experience and useful skills, and provide them guidance for a promising future in paleontology. We hope to foster a community of budding paleontologists and casual enthusiasts alike.
Events
Our main events are weekly evening talks by evolutionary biologists, ranging from university professors to museum curators to current students. We have also had special events focused on skills: scientific illustrators taught illustration and Photoshop and lab volunteers taught casting and molding. We also have an annual Field Museum collections tour, an annual invertebrate/geology field trip, and paleo-themed movie nights! PaleoClub members are also encouraged to participate in the Great Lakes Student Paleoconference (GLSP), an annual informal midwest conference held the second weekend in November to network and showcase student research.
